College invites prospective students to give courses a try

Solihull Editorial 10th Jan, 2023   0

TEENAGERS are being given a chance to try out BTEC and T level courses at Solihull Sixth Form College before making their final decisions.

Following the success of the Autumn series of Twilight Taster sessions the college is set to host more tasters sessions in the spring.

The 60-minute classes take place after school with specialist teachers and other like-minded learners from across Birmingham and Solihull.

The sessions taking place are:

IT BTEC, February 7 from 5pm until 6pm

Creative Digital Media BTEC, February 7 from 5pm until 6pm

Education and Childcare T Level, February 13 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Education and Childcare T Level, April 19 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

College vice principal Janice Hamilton said: “The Autumn taster sessions were a lot of fun, but they were also very helpful to learners who were unsure of their post-16 ambitions.

“The events gave learners an opportunity to see what A level, BTEC and T level lessons are like and see if particular courses would suit them.

“For those learners who are thinking about studying IT, Media and Childcare courses, I would urge them to sign up to these Spring tasters to help them make decisions for their futures.”

The tasters are for learners only (not parents/carers) and it is necessary to book a place on the College website at https://www.solihullsfc.ac.uk/tasters.
