Cockshut Hill students perform at Birmingham Symphony Hall

STUDENTS from Cockshut Hill School performed at the Birmingham Symphony Hall earlier this month.

The Cockshut Hill Area Band was formed last October thanks to the support of Services for Education.

The group, open to all young musicians in the area, rehearse weekly providing an opportunity for students to learn the joy of playing music with others.

The area ensemble concluded on Sunday 17th July with a joint performance with area ensembles from across the region performing at Birmingham Symphony Hall.

They performed pieces such as Jai Ho!, Chariots of Fire, I Feel Good and Yeh Dosti.

Jason Bridges, Principal at Cockshut Hill said: “We are very proud of all the Cockshut students who represented the school at the Birmingham Symphony Hall performance.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for them to perform in a really special building and I hope they all thoroughly enjoyed it!”
