This Christmas I want to take a moment to reflect and recognise all those who have demonstrated incredible acts of kindness to support others in our community over the course of the last 12 months.
In my relatively short time as the MP for Solihull West and Shirley, I have been struck by the deep sense of community spirit and civic responsibility that binds our Borough together. Irrespective of race, colour, or creed, our collective sense of belonging means we will always have more in common than divides.
This sense of place is no more evident than in the run up to Christmas, where there have been many examples of generosity and giving. Whether it is the fundraising efforts of Shirley Lions, and Shirley and Solihull Round Tables supporting St Nicholas with his Sleigh Rides, or local charities, places of worship, and organisations providing friendship and kinship, each individual act of kindness brings light into our community.
As we approach the threshold of 2025, we must all hope that we become a more united society, bound by our shared values.
I wish my constituents, and readers of the Solihull Observer, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
