Sweet memories at first Reminiscence Café

Solihull Editorial 7th May, 2024   0

CADBURY’S chocolate was on everyone lips at the first Reminiscence Café at a Shirley care home.

Residents, staff, family and the community came together in Fountains Care Home’s bistro to share their memories about the Bournville confectioner – this month’s chosen topic.

The group recited the story of Cadbury, the family history and its cultural impacts.

Everyone was keen to share their own memories – one resident recalled splashing in the village swimming pool, whilst another worked as a graphic designer alongside the Cadbury brand, creating their wrappers and posters.

Kirsty Burgess, customer relationship manager at Fountains Care Home says: “We had a delightful morning and learnt so much about Cadbury and about the life experiences of our Residents and visitors.”

The monthly Reminiscence Café aims to bring people together to discuss a variety topics, invoking memories, stories and the sharing of life experiences.

The next Reminiscence Cafe will be on May 29, and is open to all.
