CREATIVE youngsters are being invited to have a go at a new skill by Solihull’s Embroiderers Guild.
Activity sessions have been arranged for the last Saturday of the month at The Courtyard Gallery at the Core from 1.30pm until 4pm – and the next session is on Saturday (March 25).
Helen Burge, Solihull’s Young Embroiderer Leader, said: “Children can try out some activities which are aimed at those from 8 to 16 years old with members of the Solihull Embroiderers’ Guild.
“They will create a hand sewn or embroidered sample using a variety of fabrics and stitches, and find out about the Junior Embroiderers’ and Textile Students groups.”
At previous meetings members have made a daffodil picture and stitched Snowflakes learning straight stitch, back stitch, blanket stitch and a few applique tips.
The next session will recap and introduce another stitch or two by making bird key rings or a dragon tassel.
