CHESWICK Green villagers marched for the first time in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice on Remembrance Sunday.
The backdrop to the service and parade was a crochet poppy waterfall created by the village’s own anonymous Crochet Fairy at the junction of Coppice Walk and Nobel Road.
Cheswick Green Parish Councillors, Michelle Smith and Simon Coles said: “Our first Remembrance parade held in the village was well attended, the children from the Boys Brigade and Brownies worked hard on their parade, although perhaps a slower walk is needed next year.
“Cheswick Green feel very privileged to have such a talented resident, who remains anonymous, but we would all like to thank her for her efforts and making the most spectacular addition to our village.”
Residents also raised £78 for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
The poppy waterfall will remain in place until December 4.
