POLICE in Chelmsley Wood and Smiths Wood were joined by officers from specialist units to tackle off road bikers.

Drones and off-road bikes, as well as road harm prevention teams all turned out to proactively target anti-social behaviour.

West Midlands Police say the day of action saw two people arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, one person arrested and charged for theft – following a lengthy foot chase, one person arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply, one person arrested and charged for causing public nuisance, one person arrested on suspicion of drug offences, two high powered Surrons electric motorcycles seized and three petrol off-road bikes seized.

Local neighbourhood Inspector Andrew Bridgewater said: “We got some great results but we won’t stop there.

“We will keep running these operations until those causing issues for the local community get the message, you will not get away with making people’s lives a misery and causing harm.

“We know how much this means to the people of Chelmsley Wood and we will continue to use all the resources we have at our disposal to go after those committing crime and anti-social behaviour and get justice for the community.”
