SILHILLIANS are being invited to raise a glass at the annual Three Lions Beer Festival.
The event, organised by Acocks Green Lions, Shirley Lions and Solihull Lions claims to be the biggest and best yet with 18 real ales and 10 ciders on offer.
Doors open at Shirley British Legion in Parkgate, Shirley at noon until 11pm on September 8 and 9 with entertainment from Ray’s Open Mic Night.
Beer Festival chairman, Phil Rippington said: “The Beer Festival always has two objectives – to provide an opportunity to taste some real ales and unusual ciders whilst raising money for charity.
“All 23 the ales and ciders have been sponsored by local business and our thanks go to them as it means most of our costs are covered, and so more funds will be able to go to charity.”
Proceeds will go to New Life, which provides specialist equipment for disabled and terminally ill children across the UK.
Phil added: “By supporting our event, we can ensure more children get the best possible start in life and fulfil their potential.”
Entrance costs £10 and includes a souvenir glass, a programme and £5 worth of beer tokens.
