Cheers! Solihull Hospital celebrates NHS' 76th anniversary

A CUPPA was raised and fusses with four-legged friends were had as Solihull Hospital celebrated 76 years of the NHS.

Solihull Hospital Charity hosted a Big Tea events to mark the occasion and celebrated the amazing work the NHS staff do to help their patients.

The NHS Big Tea celebrations included a variety of activities across the hospitals from cake sales, and fun challenges for prizes at University Hospitals Birmingham Trust hospitals.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity and Good Hope Hospital Charity also held NHS Big Teas.

Charlotte Schofield, director of fundraising at the Charity said: “We are delighted to have celebrated the 76th Anniversary of the NHS across the Trust. It is a great reminder of how incredible the NHS staff are and the amazing work they do every day to improve their patients’ lives.

“Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Good Hope Hospital Charity, and Solihull Hospital Charity are keen encourage supporters to mark the occasion throughout the year by hosting their own tea parties, getting as many people involved as possible.”

The charities also launched the 76-mile challenge – and are calling on residents to walk, run, wheel, or cycle 76 miles in July and fundraise for them so they can continue to support patients, and their families while they are treated as well as the staff who look after them.
