Cheers! Raising a brew in honour of hospital volunteers

Solihull Editorial 5th Jun, 2024   0

HOSPITAL volunteers were invited to a tea party as a big thank you for their time and support.

To mark Volunteers’ Week Solihull Hospital Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Good Hope Hospital Charity and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity welcomed many of those who help make a difference to patients and staff.

Joan Brown, a volunteer for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, said: “I’ve met lots of different people through volunteering with the hospital charity and have made good friends. I love it and always look forward to coming in. It’s a great feeling to know you’re making a difference. Go for it, 100 per cent.”

The hospital charities are looking for reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to join their team.

There are a wide range of exciting events and activities for them to take part in, including helping in the Charity Hubs at the hospital sites, joining the ‘cheer squad’ at events, taking part in bucket collections and awareness stands or volunteering with your dog for the Pets in Hospital programme.

Mike Hammond, charity chief executive, said: “Our volunteers play a huge role within the Charity, and we are extremely grateful to them for helping us support our patients and staff.”
