AS THE Lionesses prepare to take on Spain in the Euro 2025 final Silhillians are being challenged to put their football skills to the test.
Solihull Moors Foundation and Resorts World have teamed up for a free family-friendly day for fans excited for the final on Sunday (July 27).
From noon until 4pm there will be plenty of footie fun, fast-paced challenges and a chance to show off skills, with prizes up for grabs for those who rise to the top of the table.
At the heart of the day is The Football Olympics, a six-part challenge where players, aged five and over, will measure their pace, power and precision.
Those taking part will have five chances to smash the target in a shooting drill, try their luck at football archery, and race the clock in a ten-metre sprint.
There’s also football bowling, where players will aim to knock down as many ‘pins’ as possible; mini-goal shooting with points awarded based on distance; and a slalom sprint that puts their dribbling skills to the test.
Points will be tallied from each activity, and the day’s top scorers within the four age categories (five to seven years, eight to 10 years, 11 to 13 years and 14 to 16 years), will win prizes including a signed Solihull Moors Foundation football shirt, a women’s season ticket and a £50 Resorts World gift card.
Even the littlest football fans can join in the fun too, with free face painting available throughout the afternoon.
And Soli the Moorkat – Solihull Moors meerkat mascot – will be making a special appearance on the day, ready to high-five fans, pose for photos and bring plenty of energy to the pitch-side action.
Solihull Moors coaches and team members will be on hand throughout the day to cheer on participants, offer some shoot-out improving tips and to meet fans of the club.
Kate Hannon, head of marketing, from Resorts World said: “We can’t wait to welcome fans and families alike into our premises for some proper footie-fun.
“We’re proud to be the place that promises something for everybody, and – of course – we couldn’t forget our local football fans.
“It’s great to be able to partner with our neighbours, Solihull Moors FC, on this fun-filled day and we can’t wait to see who’s got the skills to win so we can give them their well-deserved prize.”
Registration for the events will be in the atrium of Resorts World and the activities will be set up on the lakeside area by the NEC.
