Charity quiz night aims to raise funds for older people in Solihull

Solihull Editorial 21st Oct, 2022   0

OLDER people charity, Age UK Solihull is holding a quiz night to raise money to continue it’s vital services.

The quiz will take place on Wednesday October 26, starting at 7.00pm at Fountains Care Home in Shirley.

The SpeedQuizzing Night, where questions are answered via a tablet or smartphone, will be hosted by Stoo “Mister Quiz” Pittaway.

There will be drinks, light refreshments and a raffle with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.

The host venue, Barchester Healthcare’s Fountains Care Home, and Birmingham Business Park have sponsored the event, meaning more funds can be raised to help the charity support older people in Solihull.

Rebecca Jacob, digital marketing and fundraising manager at Age UK Solihull, said: “We are looking forward to our eighth SpeedQuizzing Night.

“We are a local charity and every penny raised will stay in Solihull to help us provide our services for older and vulnerable residents, many of whom have had a particularly challenging couple of years with the coronavirus pandemic and the rising cost of living.

“Events like this one not only raise vital funds for us, but they are also a chance to see our wonderful supporters – something which we do not take for granted after two years of limited face-to-face events.

“A big thank you to our Birmingham Business Park for sponsoring the event, and to Fountains Care Home for hosting and providing the drinks and refreshments.”

Fountains Care Home’s Paul Turvey added: “Fountains are delighted to be supporting Age UK Solihull with this event. The work the organisation does for our local community is invaluable and we are proud to be working alongside them.”

Birmingham Business Park’s Lori Henebury said: “Birmingham Business Park is proud to sponsor Age UK Solihull’s Speed Quizzing Night – we are so pleased to see these events back in person bringing the Solihull community back together again.”

Tickets are £10 per person and there can be up to six people per team.
