Charity fund-raiser raises over £1,000 for Solihull charity

DIRECTORS of an events company have pooled their resources to stage a fundraising afternoon tea for a children charity.

Terri Smart Jewkes and Becky Green, directors and co-owners of Babylonia events were moved by the work that Reach do with the effect of limb difference in children.

Tracey and Jason Smith run the Solihull branch of the charity, due to their nephew suffering from this affecting condition.

All of the funds raised at the afternoon tea will be used to bring all the children suffering from limb difference, along with their parents and siblings, altogether for much sought after social engagement, interaction and support.

The event, held at Nuthurst Grange in Hockley Heath raised £1075, with 110 guest attending, from all over the Midlands.

It was orchestrated by Llewela Bailey, and the crowd were entertained by a live show from Titine LaVoix.

Terri said: “There were also pop up shops supporting the event from all over the region including The Closet Knowle, Farringdon & Forbes Leamington, Younique Beauty, Hampton Candles, Tropic Skincare and Honor Gold.

“Over 20 regional brands donated amazing raffle prizes to ensure a good proportion of the guests left with a really amazing gift!

“The whole event was fun filled, and raucous so many of the guests stayed on afterwards, to enjoy more networking over drinks and to relax in the beautiful grounds of the hotel!”
