STAFF at Solihull Sixth Form College went head-to-head at the end of term in a charity football match to raise money for the University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) Charity.
Principal Martin Sullivan recruited a team of All Stars to take on vice principal Jamie Staddon and his England team in a seven-a-side football match.
Despite rising temperatures, staff members put on a show for staff and students with the principal’s team winning the match with a score of 4-2.
With ice creams and slushies on sale, a total of £202.80 was raised for the UHB Charity.
To date, the College has raised £477.16 in total for this charity through a variety of events this academic year.
Anisa Lokat-Fanning, associate assistant principal, said: “The Student Development Team and our fabulous College Council learners and volunteers have done so much for charity this year whilst creating a great sense of community in the College.
“As part of the Summit Learning Trust, Solihull Sixth Form College is proud to be supporting the UHB Charity.”
During the course of this academic year, £2,601.08 has been raised for charitable events at the college.
The Team Gambia volunteer group have raised £13,5000 for a school in West Africa, taking the total fundraising for the college to over £16,500.
