THE National Kidney Federation (NKF) is asking people to give up chocolate for October as part of the charity’s annual fundraising challenge.
‘Choctober’ grew out of the fact that many people with advanced kidney disease may not be allowed to eat chocolate due its high potassium content.
All money raised from the challenge goes towards the functioning of the charity and the services they provide, this helps the NKF to continue their freephone helpline support, their range of renal information leaflets, annual patients’ event and much more.
