BIN COLLECTIONS across Solihull will be changing to help reduce carbon emissions.
Solihull Council say the changes to the rubbish, recycling and green waste rounds will not affect what is being collected or how often.
From March 27 some residents will have a new collection day, a new collection cycle or both a new collection day and new collection cycle.
All households affected by these changes will receive a postcard with information about their new collections along with their next four collection dates.
Councillor Ken Hawkins, cabinet member Environment and Infrastructure, said: “As part of our new environmental contract with Veolia and idverde, we have conducted a full review of our waste and recycling collections. By changing some of our routes we will be able to make the service much more efficient. We will also be able to reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality – so this is good news all round.
“If people haven’t received anything by the end of March – when the new collections start – then they aren’t affected by the changes. If anyone thinks they’ve missed it, they can double-check by looking at the online calendar.”
