Chance to join film crew at Balsall Common library

BUDDING cinematographers are being called on to join a film crew at Balsall Common library.

Artist and filmmakers Louis Price is set to shoot scenes from a new film called The House with the Waiting Windows at the Kenilworth Road on September 5 and 12.

This original film is inspired by classic thrillers, and the finished piece will be installed at three different libraries throughout October, shown at Cineworld in Solihull and then available to view via a purpose-built website for 12 months.

Jobs will include script supervisor, clapper board, and camera assistants and full training will be given.

The Balsall Common Library shoots will be during the afternoon.

Participants must be over 16 years of age.




Louis Price graduated from Central St Martin’s School of Art.

He is a director, editor, and producer of films and documentaries, and designs sets and creates video imagery for theatre, dance, and opera productions.


His documentaries and short films have been shown internationally and have been screened on BBC Four, Sundance Channel US, and Sky Arts, and shown at festivals including Sundance, Sheffield Doc Fest, and Dinard Film Festival.

This film project is being made with the support of Arts Council England, the National Lottery, Culture Solihull and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
