Celebration dedicated to inclusivity comes to Solihull

Solihull Editorial 10th Sep, 2023   0

A WEEK-LONG celebration dedicated to promoting inclusivity and giving people with disabilities the chance to try something new is set to take place in Solihull.

Leisure operator Everyone Active, in partnership with Solihull Council, has announced its forthcoming Include Me Games – a week-long free event which will feature activities designed to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate and enjoy.

Sessions will take place daily at North Solihull Sports Centre and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre September 11 to 17.

The Warwickshire Bears Wheelchair Basketball Club will be on hand throughout the week to give residents a chance to try out the sport.

And Solihull Wheels for All will be hosting sessions on adaptive bikes, ranging from two wheeled bikes to tandems, tricycles, social side by side bikes, side by side hand bikes and a wheelchair transporter bike.

There will also be daily gym access as well as dedicated instructor-led fitness sessions, swimming and archery for visitors of all ages and abilities.

The annual event returned for the first time last year after a break due to the pandemic.

Wayne Desmond, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “The Include Me Games encapsulate our commitment to creating a community where everyone feels valued and empowered.

“We are really focused on breaking down barriers in physical activity and the event aims to showcase our support and inclusive offering within our local community.”

Booking is recommended but not required.
