KIND-HEARTED actors at Balsall Common Primary School raised more than a smile at their Christmas show – they also managed to raise more than £2,000 for charity.

Pupils at the Balsall Street East School collected donations for the Brain Tumour Charity from audience members at the end of performances.

Melanie Brown, Assistant Head, said “The generosity of our parents and grandparents is overwhelming and it was an honour to present the cheque to The Brain Tumour Charity on their behalf.

“The amount of money raised will provide an opportunity for ten families to have a special day out in order to give them the chance to forget about their illness for the day and to meet other families who are going through the same ordeal.

“It is so important to raise awareness for this charity as they need more money for research.”
