Care home residents celebrates 103rd birthday

BALLOONS and banners were in order at a Shirley extra-care home as one of its residents celebrated a milestone birthday.

Evelyn Hall celebrated turning 103 with her family and friends from near and far with afternoon tea at Trinity Apartments on August 21.

There was a whole day of celebrations, featuring a party and a visit from Coun Karen Grinsell, Cabinet Member for Social Care and Health.

Evelyn was born in 1917 and went to School in Wales and moved to Birmingham when she was 16.




She worked at the former BSA in Small Heath for most of her working years

She initially lived in Small Heath, then moved to Warstock in the 70s.


After her second husband passed away Evelyn then moved to New Road in Solihull.

She has four children Peter, Pauline, Colin and Beverley, six grandchildren Andrew, Amanda, Jonathan, Richard, Charlotte and Jeremy and four great-grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Oliver and Bo.
