A BALSALL Common care home manager took to the skies to raise funds for Marie Curie.
Hayley Wilkinson, general manager at Harper Fields Care Home completed a sponsored skydive in memory of Bill Chilwell – the much head of maintenance at the care home for over seven years, who was supported by the charity in his final days.
She was joined on the jump by Bill’s wife Lorraine Chilwell, whose brother Tony Wilson supported the pair with getting involve in the jump.
Hayley, who has been manager at the Albany Lane care home for three and a half years, dived through the clouds in a tandem skydive in honour of the charity, and raised a total of £700 thanks to kind-hearted donors.
She said: “My goal for taking part in this challenge was to raise awareness of the fantastic job Marie Curie does for the people and the families they support.
“Everyone at Harper Fields has been really supportive; I’m usually a little afraid of heights but it was for such a good cause so that kept me focused.
“I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
