Car hitting wall leaves man with life-threatening injuries

A MAN has sustained potentially life-threatening injuries after his car hit a wall and overturned in the Yardley area.

West Midlands Police said: “Police were called to reports of a collision on Queens Road, Stechford.

“A car is believed to have a hit a wall in the early hours of this morning (December 13).

“The driver has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are potentially life changing.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to Queens Road in Yardley at 2.13am.


“An ambulance and a paramedic officer attended.

“A white car was on fire and was upside down on arrival.

“It had gone into a driveway.

“A witness said he saw the car roll a couple of times and the air bags were deployed. But a man got out himself.

“Crews assessed and treated the patient at the scene.

“He was taken to hospital for further assessment. His condition worsened on arrival at hospital.”
