SILHILLIANS are being urged to get their running shoes on and join the fight against cancer.
Cancer Research UK is urging women of all ages, shapes and sizes to walk, run or jog 5k on Sunday, June 17 at Malvern Park.
The Race for Life team visited Mell Square to drum up support for the event.
Lorna Hartley the Event Manager for Solihull said: “We had a great day in Solihull promoting this year’s Race for Life.
“Our local Cancer Research UK shop has been a great support and we would like to thank Matthew, the Shop Manager, and all the volunteers for their help in promoting this year’s event.”
Lorna said signing up to take part in Race for Life is a great way for women to set themselves a new and exciting challenge.
She added: “We’re delighted to be able to bring Race for Life back to Solihull as it’s a fantastic addition to our Race for Life family of events across the Midlands. The 5k event is an achievable distance for all ages and abilities.”
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer.
