Call for all Solihull carers to have their say on Carers Rights Day

Solihull Editorial 26th Nov, 2020   0

SOLIHULL Liberal Democrats are calling on carers across the borough to get in touch and share their story.

To mark national Carers Right Day on November 26 a survey has been set up to so stories do not go untold.

Coun Laura McCarthy, opposition spokesperson for adult health and social care said: “Millions of people across the country act as unpaid carers for loved ones.

“This year has highlighted more than ever the issues many of them face.

“The last census showed that in Solihull and Meriden there were 24,113 unpaid carers and we know that the number has risen since then. Too often, carers are overlooked and we want to ensure that their voices are heard.

“If you are a carer – or someone who receives regular care support from a relative or a friend – we want to hear from you. Please get in touch with us and share your story.”

“If you are in need of support or advice then please do get in touch with Carers Trust Solihull who do incredible work to support carers in the borough in many different ways.”
