THERE will be a by-election for Solihull council in Blythe ward in March following the resignation of councillor Alex Insley.
Voters will go to the polls on March 1 to decide who will take up the seat until it is up for re-election in 2020.
The date of the by-election has been set in accordance with the Local Government Act 1972 which requires a poll to be held within 35 working days of the returning officer receives requests for one.
A Solihull council spokesperson estimated the total cost of the by-election to be in the region of £13,000.
