A SOLIHULL entrepreneur celebrated one year of running his business from Solihull Enterprise Centre with a visit from Solihull Council leader, Councillor Ian Courts.

Jordan Carruthers started his online greetings business – Hood Greetings – at his home in 2018.

He moved to the Enterprise Centre in June 2021 and has been so successful that he had to move to a larger office space in April this year.

Solihull Enterprise Centre is owned and managed by Solihull Council.

The Centre comprises of 23 self-contained offices of varying size, two multimedia enabled conference suites plus co-working touchdown space and hot-desking situated in the business hub. It offers competitive, flexible lease options – with all bills apart from broadband included.

Coun Courts said: “We created the Enterprise Centre to encourage and support local businesses so I was delighted to hear that Jordan’s greetings cards and mugs business has continued to grow using the facilities here.

“The Centre offers a full range of high spec serviced office space within the heart of Chelmund’s Cross.

“As businesses grow they can move offices or hire the larger conference spaces.”

Jordan’s business is Hood Greetings is an online greeting card and gift business which designs, produces, and sells cards and mugs celebrating Black British culture.

Jordan was inspired to create the business because he couldn’t find what he wanted to buy for his own friends and family.

Jordan is committed to giving five per cent from every card sold to good causes.

Last year Hood Greetings donated to three causes including Sister2Sister, which offers a bespoke personal development programme for ethnic minority females aged 13-21.
