THE well-loved Broadacre estate in Dorridge enjoyed a very successful Easter Sunday opening for its annual National Garden Scheme fundraiser.

John Woolman, proprietor at Broadacre said: “£1,605 was raised for the NGS by our 372 visitors, and 45 of our plants were sold.

“A dozen or so well-behaved dogs came, also quite a lot of children who seemed to like running up and down the slopes.

“I ann 30 cakes were baked and consumed, all included in the entry fee, with enough china teacups and saucers to quench everyone’s thirst!

“Anyone wondering whether to open their garden for the National Garden Scheme should go ahead, it is well worth it!”
