Breast cancer patients to benefit from mobile bra fitting service

Solihull Editorial 30th Jan, 2019 Updated: 1st Feb, 2019   0

A NEW mobile bra fitting service has been set up for breast cancer patients in Solihull.

Macmillan Cancer Support has invested over £14,000 the service for those living in Solihull, Birmingham, North Warwickshire, Sandwell, Walsall and North Staffordshire.

The service is provided by a non-profit organisation called Community Breast Care, a professional and private bra fitting service that supports men and women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Macmillan Cancer Support says the comapny also offer educational packages to schools, community groups along with health and wellbeing events and return to work interviews for small to large corporate organisations, to support and educate employees.

Alison Boyd, founder of Community Breast Care said, “The service we offer is life changing for breast cancer patients.

“Having a correctly fitted specialist bra post-surgery is imperative, especially for ladies who have undergone a mastectomy or lumpectomy.

“If given the wrong size bra, the prosthesis can be the wrong weight and shape.

“This often causes emotional and psychological issues along with low or more often, no self-confidence and esteem.”

Home visits are available for anyone who would like a private fitting.
