A YOUNG schoolboy became trapped under a vehicle when he was knocked off of his bike.
Emergency services were called to Shirley Road in Acocks Green on Thursday morning (May 11).
West Midlands Ambulance and Fire services attended to the incident – and the road was closed off.
It took eight fire fighters from Hay Mills Fire Station an hour to rescue the 12-year-old, who was taken by ambulance to Heartlands Hospital.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said the youngster’s injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
