A YOUNG BOY received trauma care from ambulance staff before being airlifted to hospital following a collision with a car in Sheldon this afternoon.
The boy suffered serious injuries and his age is yet to be announced.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a pedestrian who had been involved in an road traffic collision with a car near to the junction of Ragnall Avenue and The Radleys shortly after 3.30pm (Wednesday).
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a trauma doctor on board attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a boy who had sustained serious head and leg injuries.
“He was given trauma care at the scene by the team of ambulance staff before being airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further specialist care.”
