SPECAVERS in Castle Vale is backing a local boxer ahead of his first professional match.
The Greenwood Square optician has become Scott Melvin’s newest sponsor, which will see him sporting a branded kit while in the ring. Scott, the cousin of one of the team members, will be donning his gloves at The Holte Suite in Villa Park tonight, Saturday, September 4, for his first professional match after boxing for 10 years.
“We’re always looking for ways to get involved with the local community, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to not only support the team, but also their family,’ said Specsavers Castle Vale store director, Sukhi Drake.
“It was a simple decision to support Scott in his upcoming match, and we’re all rooting for him to win!”
In line with guidance from the NHS, Specsavers is keeping safety measures in place, including the wearing of face coverings, unless there is a medical exemption.
