AN UNEXPLODED device was safely removed in Solihull yesterday after evacuations and road closures.
As we reported yesterday (April 9) Streetsbrook Road, Shirley, was closed off by a bomb squad after the device was discovered in a garden.
Last night, West Midlands Police said: “An explosive disposal team have safely removed the unexploded device.
“Roads have re-opened and residents able to return to their homes. Thank you to everyone for your patience.
West Midlands Police said in the afternoon (April 9): “Officers have cordoned off an area around Streetsbrook Road in Shirley.
“Some nearby homes have been evacuated as a precaution and we are advising motorists that roads are closed in the surrounding area.”
