THE BODY of a 52-year-old man has been found at a Sparkhill hostel.
The man was found just after 10am at the hostel on Durham Road yesterday (April 3).
Police have now launched a murder investigation and remain at the scene to carry out enquiries this morning.
Officers arrested eight men and one woman on suspicion of murder ? they all remain in custody and will be questioned later today.
Detective Inspector Harry Harrison, from Force CID, said: “We are treating this death as suspicious and have a number of people in custody.
“I would ask anyone who was at the hostel at the time and has information about what happened to call us as soon as possible on 101.”
