Birmingham Children's Hospital searches for Solihull governor

Solihull Editorial 12th Nov, 2016   0

BIRMINGHAM Children’s Hospital is hunting for a Slihillian to become a Governor and help shape the future of the hospital.

The Council of Governors is looking for a Public Governor and the successful candidate will have a say in key decisions at the hospital – playing a role in representing the views of the people of Solihull and holding the non-executive directors to account.

A Governor can be anyone aged 16 and over, who lives in the area where there is a vacancy.

The Council of Governors meets formally four times per year and attends two meetings every year with the Board of Directors.

During these meetings, they discuss how well the hospital is doing regarding providing care to its children and young people.

They also discuss matters to help shape the future of the hospital.

Nominations for the role are open from November 3.

For more about becoming a Governor, email Birmingham Children’s Hospital at [email protected] or alternatively call 0208 889 9203 or email [email protected] for a nomination form.

The closing date for nominations is midday on November 18 and voting will take place in December 2016.
