Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust welcomes new executive director

A NEW director has been appointed at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT).

Patrick Nyarumbu has been appointed as the new executive director of strategy, people and partnerships at the Trust.

He is a mental health nurse by background and has worked and in a wide range of NHS organisations covering mental health, acute and specialist services as well as a Primary Care Trust and a Clinical Commissioning Group.

Patrick is currently director of nursing, leadership and quality for NHS England and NHS Improvement in the East of England.




Speaking of his appointment, Patrick said “I am really pleased to have been offered the opportunity to work in such an innovative organisation, and I am excited to be going back to my mental health roots.

“This is a pivotal time to be joining the Trust with the launch of its new strategy, of which people is a key priority, and I am looking forward to leading change to make the Trust a great place to work and be cared for.”


Roisin Fallon-Williams, chief executive of BSMHFT, said: “I am delighted that Patrick has chosen to come and work with us and his varied experience will be of great value to our organisation.

“Until Patrick’s appointment, although our Board was relatively representative of our local communities, our executive team was not.

“This appointment shows our commitment to making our new value of being inclusive a reality.

“I welcome Patrick to the Trust and he will be a great asset to BSMHFT.”

Patrick will join the Trust on November 2.
