MOTORCYCLISTS will be revving their engines in honour of a fallen soldier.
The fourth annual Conrad’s Ride event- launched in memory of Private Conrad Lewis – will take place on July 15 from Ragley Hall in Alcester at 11am.
The convoy will travel to Warwick Castle and passing by All Angels Church where Conrad – who grew up in Warwickshire – is laid to rest.
After crossing the finish line the day is set to continue at the Old Leamingtonians RFC with an afternoon and evening of live music, raffles, food and beer.
Conrad was the 353rd British soldier killed in Afghanistan in February 2011. According to friends, the soldier was an immensely popular young man who enjoyed rugby and motorcycling.
And a charity known as 353, was set up by The Lewis family – to help those in the military community through their times of need.
Among those supported by the charity are The Parachute Regiment Charity, Troop Aid, Nowzad Dogs and the Afghanistan Trust.
Tickets to the event are £5 and overnight camping is available onsite at the Rugby Club for an additional £5.
