THE BERKSWELL Windmill will open this weekend to host a weekend of fun in the sunshine.
The historic windmill in Balsall Common will open its doors this Saturday (June 10) and Dutch millwright Johan is set to make a special appearance.
From noon until 4pm there will be plenty on offer including greeting cards and plant sales, a mini-stone for the children to attempt flour making and folk singer Bill Pullen will entertain crowds.
The windmill’s ever-popular cream teas will also be on sale.
The Mill was last used as a working Windmill in 1948 and today, looks just the same as it did then.
It is complete with all of its original machinery and is thought to be one of the most complete Mills in the country.
There is a small entrance fee which includes a guided tour of £3.50 adults; £1 under 16s and £8 family ticket . All proceeds go towards the maintenance of the Mill.
