Balsall Common care home hands funds to day respite centre

A BALSALL Common care home has given funds to a Coventry day centre.

Harper Fields care home handed Coundon Care day centre at Allesley Park a £500 grant from Barchester Foundation to help pay for replacement wheelchairs.

The centre offers respite day care to elderly people who are in need of physical and or memory support and is staffed with a team who are trained to offer care and offers friendship for those who go to the centre.

Hayley Wilkinson, general manager from Harper Fields went along to the day centre and met Kay Smith who is Project Manager to find out more about what the day centre offers and presented the cheque to Kay.




Kay said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded the grant. The grant money will go towards replacement wheelchairs for our charity which provides day care for elders in Coventry, we can be a lifeline for our clients and their families.”

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.
