A BALSALL Common baby loss charity has been given funds to continue their work support families.
Resorts World Birmingham has donated £2,000 to The Lily Mae Foundation which supports those affected by stillbirth, neonatal death, and miscarriage.
The money is heading straight to the front lines of bereavement support, funding everything from the foundation’s Memory Boxes to one-to-one counselling.
Amy Jackson from The Lily Mae Foundation said: “This incredibly generous donation from Resorts World Birmingham means we can continue to be a vital lifeline for even more families across the West Midlands when they need us most.
“Every penny goes directly toward helping parents navigate the devastating journey of loss, from providing Memory Boxes to hospitals to offering specialist baby-loss bereavement support and events for mums, dads, siblings and grandparents.”
It is a timely recognition for the couple, who have been awarded the British Empire Medal for the years they’ve spent catching local families when they fall.
For the team at Resorts World, the decision to help was an easy one; they wanted to back two local heroes who have spent over a decade turning their own grief into a source of strength for others.
For one Resorts World team member, who wishes to remain anonymous, the charity provided a lifeline during one of the most difficult times of her life.
She said: “After a brave battle our baby boy sadly passed away aged seven days old at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Completely heartbroken, our worlds were turned upside down and we felt totally lost.
“Lily Mae were in touch straight away and have been an amazing support ever since.
“A charity that no families want to be a part of but one we definitely couldn’t have done without. 5 years on and I know I can still contact them for support whenever needed. My manager and Resorts World have also been an amazing support throughout.
“I’m so grateful that Lily Mae were chosen for the generous donation, I understand how much the memory boxes/counselling and charity events help bereaved parents/families.”
Jason Kirsch, director of operations, from Resorts World added: “Ryan and Amy are absolute inspirations, and we are proud to support the incredible heart and compassion they pour into our community every single day.
“We want to be more than just a destination; we want to be a good neighbour that stands by the local heroes who make such a difference in people’s lives.”
