Baby fest at Hogarths

THERE must be something in the water at Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant in Dorridge as seven babies have been born to different staff members in the past two years – including hotel owner Helena Hogarth.

The luxury hotel began a huge development programme in winter 2011 – but the baby boom which followed wasn’t quite what the Hogarths had in mind when they decided the hotel should expand.

The patter of tiny feet was first heard in January 2012 when Magda Flis, who works in Housekeeping, gave birth to baby Oskar.

Then in March 2012, Owners Helena and Andy Hogarth welcomed Toby into the world, at the height of the development programme.

The expansion was completed in Spring 2012, bringing the number of bedrooms at the hotel to 49.

Each is individually designed to the highest standard with luxuries on offer including a four poster bed, infinity bath and an outdoor hot tub on a private terrace.

The following summer, in June 2013, Hogarths’ Head Chef Alexander Alexandrov became a dad when wife Eva gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Alex.

Just five months later and Lisa Slawinski, who works in Bar8 Brasserie, was delighted to become a grandmother following the arrival of baby Ethan.

In August 2013, Receptionist Marsha Carr went into labour with Frankie then November 2013 saw the arrival of Madison whose mother Louise Clifton works in Housekeeping.

The baby boom finally came to an end in December when Helen Wallace from the Sales Department, gave birth to Poppy.

“Hogarths has become known as Solihull’s Best Kept Secret as we’re hidden within 30 acres of beautiful, unspoilt woodland in Dorridge.” said Owner, Helena Hogarth.

“We’ve been delighted to welcome so many new arrivals to our ranks in the past few years, but once they find their voices we may not remain a secret much longer.”
