Arden School's class of 1976 invited to return for reunion

Solihull Editorial 19th Feb, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016

FORMER pupils from Arden School have been invited to experience a blast from the past at a special school reunion.

A group of old friends have joined forces in a bid to track down fellow ex-students who took their exams during the hottest summer of the century in 1976.

All students  who were a part of the year group which attended the school between 1971 and 1976 have been invited to the Leavers Reunion Party being held on April 30 at the Greswolde Arms Hotel, in Knowle.

Jackie Harmer, formerly known as Starkey, is helping to organise the event.

So far more than 60 former pupils and teachers who have confirmed they will be attending.

Jackie said if anyone knew someone who was apart of their year group or how to contact them she would appreciate it if they would pass on the message.

Jackie said: “The class of 1971 were the intake which experienced the changing of Arden School from a very modest comprehensive establishment into a more advanced learning one under the new headship of the then new head teacher Mr Bennett.

“We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting up next year.”
