CCTV of a man who stole thousands of pounds from a bookies shop in Acocks Green last month has been released by police in an bid to identify him.

The suspect entered the Ladbrokes on Warwick Road just after 10pm on March 25 and, armed with a knife, pushed a cashier to the floor and forced him to open a safe.

He instructed the cashier to fill a rucksack with cash before escaping with over £5,000.

DC Kate Watts, leading the investigation, said: “The suspect used a weapon to threaten the victim and subjected him to a physical assault.

“The footage clearly shows the face of the man we want to speak to in connection with this robbery and we would urge anyone who knows his identity to come forward with that information.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Kate Watts via email at [email protected] or Crimestoppers anonymously. Please quote crime number 20BE/62165R/17
