AN APPEAL has been launched after a crash left a bike rider in a critical condition.

The collision happened on Lode Lane at the junction with Rowood Drive in Solihull around 6.45pm on May 18.

West Midlands Police say the 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries and remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital.

His family are being supported by dedicated family liaison officers.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and assisted police with enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the force’s serious collision investigation unit said: “This occurred on a busy main road and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who recalls seeing a red off-road style bike being ridden on Lode Lane.

“The investigation is in its early stages and it is important that we establish the full facts in order to give those involved the answers they need.”

Anyone who saw what happened or has dash cam footage should contact police by emailing [email protected], via Live Chat on the police’s website or by calling 101 and quote log 4175 of May 18.
