A MAN has been arrested after a woman was injured in Popworld in Solihull in an alleged unprovoked attack.
The woman, aged 28, was in the smoking area of the venue when a stranger approached her on Sunday (August 25).
West Midlands Police say after a brief exchange of words, he hit her and then repeatedly punched her while she was unconscious on the floor. Others pulled him away from her.
She suffered a suspected fractured cheek bone and other injuries in the attack, which happened at around 2.45am.
A man aged 23 has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody today.
