WELLNESS coach and author Alison Swift will release the sequel to her popular debut book ‘My Wellness Toolbox’ at John Lewis in Solihull between 11am and 2pm on Saturday, July 3.

In 2018, Alison began writing an online blog while on maternity leave sharing her own experiences on the crippling anxiety that led to her to hit ‘rock bottom’ years before.

The blog was so well-received Alison turned it into a book before training as a wellness coach and holistic therapist and landing her own wellness show on Solihull Radio.

Alison wrote the follow up ‘Your Wellness Toolbox’ in the midst of lockdown whilst home schooling, recording radio shows, dipping her toe back into her former life as an IT consultant, growing her wellness business and celebrating her 40th lockdown birthday,

She said: “I’m so excited for the official book launch and hope to see as many Silhillians there as possible.

“This book is packed with even more tools to support people in different scenarios, from hospital appointments to family events and even pulls out tools that can help you ride the waves of a global pandemic.”

Despite her success, Alison’s anxiety is something she still has to keep an eye on.

She said: “Ironically after living anxiety free for over 13 years, about nine months after my first book was published, I started to experience anxiety and panic attacks again.

“Following a number of challenges and the loss of a family friend I went spiralling once more, heading towards rock bottom again – I was very scared.

“Yet my history led me to the right thing and I got the support and help I needed.”

“Ultimately My Wellness Toolbox and the tools I was writing about in the new book helped me enormously and encouraged me to address the fears that were still hanging around.

“Thankfully, I have once again been able to heal and move forward.”

Alison is keen to point out she is not a doctor but said: “What I am is a young woman who experienced anxiety and depression. I know how it feels and I am a real-life example that you can overcome it.

“If I help just one person, then I have achieved what I set out to do.”

At Saturday’s launch Alison will be talking tools, signing books and giving away free wellness tools with every purchase of the book.

Your Wellness Toolbox is now available online and from all good book stores, priced at £9.99.
