THE ALE was in full flow as the Friends of St Alphege Music hosted its beer festival.

Beer-lovers were spoilt for choice at the Oliver Bird Hall on Church Hill Road with over 20 real ales as well as a selection of ciders, perries (pear cider), wine and gin on offer at the fifth annual event.

The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Stuart Davis opened the festival and there was live music.

Proceeds will go to the Friends of St Alphege Music which supports musical education.

Observer photographer Jon Mullis was on hand and captured these pictures of the festival.
