Alan revisits home for first time since Covid hit

A CHELMSLEY Wood care home resident visited his family home after three years away due to Covid.

Alan’s wish of returning to see his beloved home for the day, and spend some quality time with his wife, Catherine was granted by the team at Chelmunds Court care home.

While there, the couple spoke about how they met and discussed many of Alan’s best memories with the staff.

He also played his favourite records in the background.




With tight Covid restrictions in place over the last few years, the opportunity for Alan to return to his old home has been difficult, but now they are lifted the team arranged for both him and his wife to have a wonderful day back in their home

Wellbeing lead, Julie Ball, at Chelmunds Court, said: “We wanted to arrange a special day for Alan to be back home with his wife and enjoy the comforts of home for the day.


“We enjoyed a lovely spot of tea and cake and both Alan and Catherine very much enjoyed spending the day simply enjoying each other’s company and reminiscing about where they met and times gone by.”

“A huge thank you must go to the team at Chelmunds Court for going above and beyond and arranging such a special day for Alan and Catherine. After three years away, the quality time in their home together was certainly needed.”
