ADOPTIVE children and parents being cared for by a Solihull-based agency are in safe hands after it received its third consecutive Outstanding Ofstead rating.
Adoption Focus in Marston Green was commended by the educational regulator for the range of training and workshops on offer to adoptive parents at all stages of the process.
The voluntary adoption agency was also praised for how children build trusted and secure relationships with their adoptive parents and how adopters are helped to understand the potential impact of abuse and neglect on children.
The agency was also give the top standard rating at its 2013 and 2010 inspections.
During the inspection one adopter told the regulator: “We have been really impressed right from the start the training was interactive and the assessment was thorough.”
Another said: “The preparation we had was very good, as we knew what we were trying to schieve when the children arrived.”
The report released by Ofsted said from March 31, 2017 to the date of the inspection, which was carried out from February 14 to 21, 2018, Adoption Focus had placed 56 children with 37 families.
In the report inspectors noted the child’s voice is clear they have an active role in groups run by the agency and their feedback is often sought on the services provided.
The report also states inspectors watched how professional staff work with children and young people and each other and discussed the effectiveness of help and care provided.
