Activities and childcare in Solihull borough for school holidays

Editorial Correspondent 25th Jul, 2020 Updated: 25th Jul, 2020

SOLIHULL Council has compiled a list of activities and childcare for parents during the summer holidays in the borough.

Providers are offering activities in line with the latest Covid-19 Government guidance, it says.

During this year’s school holidays, there are also Ofsted-registered holiday schemes and childminders offering care throughout the holidays.

The council adds: “Parents and carers should always encourage their children to wash their hands regularly with soap for 20 seconds or more before and after activities.

“It is extremely important that children do not attend activities or childcare if they have possible symptoms of Covid-19. This includes a raised temperature, persistent cough and loss or change in taste/smell.”

Families can find out about places to visit over the summer holidays, as well as activities at Solihull’s libraries, ways to stay active and ways to have fun at home on the Solihull Social website.

The council adds: “Parents can also find out what activities and events are happening near them each month by joining the Parents’ Network to receive monthly emails.

“Parents and carers can view information on how to choose activities for their children as well as how to choose a registered childcare place for them.  They can also access information and advice about mental wellbeing.

“Parents who have a child with additional needs or a disability can also access information about choosing inclusive activities and childcare provision.”
