AN ACOCKS Green pupil proved he was a cut above the rest at the 2025 West Midlands Speak Out Challenge Champion.
Ilyas gave a powerful and passionate speech on Climate Injustice and how the poor suffer the most from climate change before he was crowned the 2025 West Midlands Speak Out Challenge Champion.
The Ninestiles pupil impressed the judges and audience alike, showcasing not only confidence and eloquence but also the strength of student voice.
The Speak Out Challenge is the UK’s largest public speaking competition for young people. Each year, thousands of Year 10s take part, learning vital oracy skills and building confidence through workshops and public events.

His success reflects the courage, thoughtfulness, and creativity of our learners.
